Retention and detention pond excavation

A detention pond, which is commonly known as a dry pond, lacks a permanent pool of water.

In other words, its orifice level lies at the bottom of the basin. This is the water that flows out between storm. As a result, it’s typically dry. On the other hand, a retention basin pond has its orifice and riser at a significantly higher level. Thus, it’s able to maintain a permanent pool.

Pond Restoration
